Tandia Primary School before
From Chaos to Hope: How Asante Aid Revived a Struggling School
Tandia Primary School, located in Vitengeni, Ganze Sub-County, Kilifi, was once a school in extreme distress. With over 212 students, the school faced severe infrastructure challenges, including dilapidated classrooms that flooded and collapsed during heavy rains. The Nation Newspaper reported that pupils learned under difficult conditions, while teachers struggled to create order where chaos reigned.
The school had only eight government teachers, leaving a critical shortage of educators to support the growing student population. Many children sat on the ground, lacking desks and proper learning materials. The situation was so dire that it gained national media attention, highlighting the urgent need for intervention.

Upon witnessing these conditions, Asante Aid launched a transformation initiative to ensure that every child at Tandia Primary School could learn in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. Through this intervention, the school underwent a remarkable transformation:
✅ Four new classroom blocks built, ensuring safe and structured learning spaces.
✅ Desks and essential learning materials are provided, eliminating the need for students to sit on the ground.
✅ Enrollment surged, as parents saw the value of quality education.
✅ Needy students received uniforms, boosting their confidence and sense of belonging.
✅ The government deployed additional teachers, strengthening academic support and improving student performance.
