At Asante Aid, we are dedicated to improving child health by addressing the urgent need for maternal care and surgical treatment in Kilifi County, Kenya. Our initiatives focus on providing life-saving corrective surgeries for children born with congenital defects, while also preventing these conditions through enhanced maternal health services.
Problem and Solutions
Many children in Kilifi County suffer from severe birth defects, such as imperforate anus, due to a lack of prenatal care and proper medical interventions.
Asante Aid has already treated over 50 children through surgeries at Kijabe Hospital, but the number of similar cases continues to grow.
To combat this health crisis, we are launching a comprehensive program:
Immediate Objective: Treat 30 children with congenital defects through corrective surgeries, offering them pain-free lives and better opportunities.
Preventive Objective: Provide prenatal care to over 300 pregnant women through monthly free medical camps, health education, and screenings to reduce birth defects.
Long-term Impact: Improve maternal and child health for over 100,000 people in Kilifi County, reducing mortality rates and enhancing healthcare access.
